Have You Spent Three Years Of Your Life Shopping?
Two words come to mind when pondering the results of the latest poll on women's shopping habits: No. Way. Do all those hours spent shopping for bargains really add up to three years? According to a new survey conducted on 2000 women by OnePoll.com, yes they do. In fact a woman living up to 63 years old is expected to spend 25,184 hours and 53 minutes or three years of her lifetime shopping.
Per year that's 49 hours spent window shopping, 40 hours trying on shoes (this is justifiable, we can prove it), 36 hours picking out gifts, 31 hours browsing books and 17 hours buying toiletries.
We can just see the news headlines now: Women wasting away their lives in pursuit of a bargain. We're not buying it. It's too easy to cast women as frivolous spenders who devote their lives to shopping for clothes and shoes, but we know that's not the whole truth. Even a spokesperson for the survey specified that most women "quite often shop for the entire family and that can be incredibly hard work." Take the fact that the average woman spends 94 hours and 55 minutes at the grocery store every year, just a few hours less than the 100 hours and 48 minutes she spends shopping for clothes. So men, there you have it: women spend almost as much time making sure there's food in the fridge as they do making sure their shoe game is on point.
Take that, boyfriends and husbands.

Spring Forward Transformation
One of the first things we think about when Spring arrives is spring cleaning. Not only cleaning out the cobwebs in the attic but also cleaning out our closets and fashion cobwebs.Do you sometimes feel like you are wearing the same fashions that you wore 15 - 20 years ago? When is the last time you updated your closet to compliment changes in your style and sophistication? Do the colors and styles you wear date you and make you look years older than you feel? If you answered "yes" to any one or all of these questions, it's time for your Spring Forward Transformation!
First take a long look at yourself in the mirror..... Is your hair shinny and flowing? Or is it dull and limp? Youthful hair is light, flowing and full of fun. Get rid of the grey, add a little gold highlights, some length and a bang! I bet that made you feel 5 years younger just thinking about the transformation. With today's new technologies, you don't even have to wait for your hair to grow a few inches. Now spring into action and schedule an appointment with your hair stylist. Get extensions, whether you need one, two or 12 inches, it can be achieve immediately!
Your complexion is the next most important item on our Spring Forward agenda. Your skin must radiate from the inside out. Nothing says cobwebs like dry, patchy, rough skin. Which means first and foremost a healthy diet. Start eating plenty of fresh fruits and veggies. I don't mean drink them in juices, but actually eat 3 or 4 servings per day. Also, add a multivitamin, vitamin D, and echinacea to your morning regime. Getting enough of the proper vitamins will help to cut down on cravings for unhealthy snack foods.
In addition to diet, exercise is important to keep that glow in your cheeks. Staying active is not as difficult as it sounds. During spring cleaning, running errands and cooking, incorporate your workout within these chores. If you bend over to pick up an items, do it 5 extra times. When going on an errand, park a block away from the place of business. When cooking, march in place in front of the stove or sink while washing dishes. These are little tricks you can use to stay fit and eliminate another 5-10 years.
Now for the most important part of our Spring Forward Transformation...Fashion Sense. Fashion is a very individual and unique attitude that each of us possesses. Begin your Fashion Transformation with the enhanced confidence that you have spent years perfecting. You have it, now use it. Be daring, be different, be the you that you have always wanted to be! Everything you need to show how beautiful you feel is available right at your fingertips. Start here and don't stop until you feel another 5 years have just been eliminated. Now, take a long look at yourself in the mirror.....Yes, your hair is shinny and flowing! Yes, your skin is radiant! Yes, you have relentless energy! Most of all....Yes, you are once again showing your sense of style and sophistication.
Once you Spring Forward, you can view the authentic you by looking exactly as wonderful as you feel. Enjoy your Spring Forward Transformation!

Are You PLUS Size?
Plus size clothing should be selected according to your own personal preferences such as vibrant colors or flagrant prints. Accessories such as belts and scarves can update an outfit that was in a style that is now out of fashion.
Is there a plus size bra in your lingerie collection? Recently, a study showed that 70-85% of women's bras are the wrong size. Getting measured for a well-fitting bra isn't embarrassing. Usually, you won't even need to take off your shirt. Most plus size clothing stores have someone on staff that's trained to find your bra size, and the perfect bra for you.
Take the time to select a dress that's just right for you now that you can choose from so many large size fashions. Perhaps you would look best in an elegant gown with empress sleeves or maybe you'd enjoy a sexy little short-skirted shift. You may be a larger woman, but you needn't wear garments down to your ankles because of that.
Do not fear joining completely different eras and designs. Purchase items you enjoy wearing, and that complement your body type. Bigger ladies can more easily wear daring dresses and show more cleavage. That can be emphasized with showy necklaces to draw the eye to that area.
You should make sure to be honest with yourself. For instance, simply try clothes on and ignore the size numbers. If the item fits and feels good, buy it. Don't be upset if you are a size 18 and the item says a size 20. Remember, you are not your dress size, so make sure to buy what feels and looks best on you. Friday, February 24, 2012
Celebrity Weight Loss
If you've seen photos of Glee's Amber Riley at the NAACP Image Awards on Feb. 17, you probably noticed that the 26-year-old actress looked a bit different. "I dropped two dress sizes!" she told People, about her new, slimmer figure.Photo Gallery: Check out other dramatic celebrity weight loss
But how exactly did she do it? Riley credits the weight loss with a new diet and exercise plan. She cut out fast foods and "decided I was going to make a change and eat healthier."
The actress has been sticking with her regimen since last July, after she was forced to see a doctor due to chronic stomach pains.
Jersey Shore's Snooki reveals dramatic weight loss
The seven-month health kick has obviously paid off. Riley says the costume department on set has had to tailor a lot of her pants and dresses to accommodate her slimmer frame. They've also had to buy "a lot of new clothes for me."
Even before losing weight, the Los Angeles-born actress considered herself a confident woman. "I've always been comfortable with my size," says Riley. "I just decided it was time to get healthy."

Congrats, you are going to have a baby!

Clothing is the first thing for the ‘must have’ checklist. And honestly who can resist all of those sweet little outfits, but remember that babies develop quickly so don’t buy a lot of those -3 month size, and baby clothes shouldn’t be tight fitting. Also resist the urge to purchase a lot of those little socks and booties, they're adorable, however the child won't be in them long.
So what should you purchase? Let’s begin with the basics; each and every child needs oneses and bodysuits. Because this really is an everyday item you want to have 7- 12 on hand. The reason I recommend so many is that infants do get messy, so you may need a couple of every single day. Secondly those first couple of weeks at home with baby can be extremely hectic and you might not get a chance to do the laundry as often as you would like.
You need clothes for child that makes your life easier and gowns do just that. Gowns are wonderful for nighttime. Those overnight feedings and diaper changes could be a bit groggy and gowns will assist with those diaper changes. Gowns supply easy access and a great deal less fumbling. You will want seven of these on hand. Infants grow out of gowns quickly so you want to possess sleepers are on hand. Simply because you will find so several fairly sleepers available these days many moms have infants in sleepers all day long. With this in mind you will want to have a dozen of those on hand.
You see many things come and go when it comes to what is used for infants, but some thing never change and baby bibs are one of those things. Some days it'll appear much more is coming out of baby’s mouth than is heading in. Bibs help to maintain your baby clean. You want a least a dozen of baby bibs on hand and this really is 1 thing you should not worry about having too many of, you will be amazed how many bibs you'll use throughout the course of a week. One more thing to include on your must have checklist is those adorable newborn hats. These hats will help baby keep warm, and they look so cute.
There are many other things that you will want to purchase, but the above will get you started. You will purchase and obtain many adorable outfits for the new child, the best advice I can give you would be to wear them on your child. Several new moms save outfits for special occasions, only to have baby grow out of them before they had been ever worn. There will be a time soon enough when your little 1 will be vocal about what they want to put on, so take the time now to dress them how you please.

Piercing All In the Name of Fashion
er ceased to amaze me how we often take everything to the extremes in order to be the best of the best when it come to making a fashion statement.Take for instance the new fashion trend of piercings. At first it was that everyone had to have his or her ears pierced. Then it turned into more than one hole in each ear. When did it go from three to ten.? That's right, I have seen many women with as many as ten holes in each ear. Now that is a little extreme.
en the start of piercing the lips, nose, nipples, belly button and who knows what else also became fashionable. I have heard rumors, and I am sure you have too! And lets not forget the tongue. How can anyone pierce their tongue. I hate to even get a blister on my tongue, it is so painful, indeed.
The fact is this is making it awfully hard to figure out those who are just ordinary folks from the ones that are bikers, or punk rockers, or just plain thugs. Everyone seems to be getting into this fad.I hope these folks think of this when they are standing in the mall trying to think of another place to put an extra hole in their bodies.
Search Amazon.com for j lo clothingWhat happened to good Fashion Sense when it comes to our bodies? How can one be so particular about clothes and careless about their bodies? Do you have piercings? How about tattoos?
P.S. I have three holes in each ear....Cool huh?

How to Always Have "Something to Wear"
Here's How:
- Stop impulse buying. Every $10 mistake you would have picked up in the bargain bin goes to a really great fashion wardrobe.
- In the first step of cleaning out your closet, eliminate everything that doesn't fit or that you haven't worn in a year.
- A few weeks later, go back and get rid of all the stuff you fudged on the first time around.
- With what's left, begin identifying a theme to your wardrobe, relying on favorite looks, colors and lifestyle pieces.
- Decide on three colors that either match or will coordinate with what you own and buy only those three colors for apparel.
- Establish a workable budget.
- Make a "Most Wanted" list of all the items you need in your wardrobe. (For example: solid blazer, wool pants, white shirt)
- Set aside an hour of time each week to shop -- online or off -- to buy the items you put on your "Most Wanted" list.
- Avoid trendy items.
- Buy fashionable, but timeless clothing that will span two to three seasons -- like wool crepe or matte jersey.
- Purchase only clothes that work with something that you already own.
- Pass on anything that doesn't fit -- no matter how great a buy.
- Try to add only one or two well-thought out items per month.
- Add punchy color and trendiness with accessories, shoes and handbags.
Tips:
- Ignore that advice about buying "the best" of everything. Regardless of how well-made a garment is, moths, coffee spills and kids take their toll. Never choose between a mortgage payment and a cashmere sweater.
- Try to plan your wardrobe around three neutral colors like black, white, khaki, navy or brown.
- Buy more solids than prints - you won't get tired of them as quickly.
- Search Amazon.com for Chadwicks clothing

How Safe is Online Shopping?
Holidays or not, online shopping is fast becoming the main shopping choice for many people. People prefer online stores for their shopping needs over the brick-and-mortar stores for a variety of reasons - discounted prices, quick price comparisons, unavailability of desired items in the retail stores, 24 hours shopping convenience, etc. Whatever the reason is, before you jump into the online shopping bandwagon, you must consider a few things to avoid frustration and monetary loss. Before you pull out your credit card to buy an item at an unbelievably reduced price, think about the reasons why the merchant is throwing out his profits. Maybe it is a total scam and they want your credit card number to rip you off. Or maybe they want your personal data. If you find a
shopping site, usually advertised in a spam e-mail, that sells for example $100 software for $10, look out! You can bet that this is a scammer's site. For this reason it is safe to stay with the big online shopping sites. Sites that are publicly traded or reputable private companies do not spam your email inbox with unsolicited advertisements. And these big online shopping sites have a state of the art secure checkout systems.
Before you select sites that are worthy of your hard earned money, ask your friends about their
experiences with online shopping sites. Another approach is to use a search engine like Yahoo to search for items you plan to purchase. When you use Yahoo to search for an item, you will get advertised and non-advertised sites offering your searched items at different prices. Don't simply jump to the first website that offers your searched item at the lowest price. Check out a few sites before you decide where to make the purchase.
Many sites like bizrate.com or nexttag.com offer price comparisons, reviews, and shopping site ratings. Use these sites to read reviews and to do a price comparison. Sites like techbargains.com publish information on latest bargains, coupons, and discounts offered by various online shopping sites. Websites like deals2buy.com offer everyday hot deals and coupons. Monitoring this type of sites provides opportunities to get great bargains. One comparison shopping site, buysafeshopping.com, provides information on qualified shopping sites that have gone through a screening process for merchant's identity, online sales experience, and the ability to deliver purchased items.
If you have to shop with an unknown online merchant, check for their telephone number at their website. Contact someone at the merchant's physical location and talk to them. Ask them about their privacy and refund policy. If you cannot find a phone number or the phone number goes to a voice mail instead to a live person, go shopping somewhere else. There are dozens, if not hundreds, good online merchants for any items you want to buy.
At the online checkout counter, you have to use a credit card to pay. When you use your credit card, make sure that your credit card and personal information are sent using encryption to avoid someone intercepting your information for unauthorized use. To check for encryption, look for https in the URL. It is perfectly safe if the site has http in its URL for all pages except the order page - the page where you enter your credit card and other personal information like address, etc. Also, look for a closed lock icon in the bottom right corner that indicates the webpage is secure. Avoid public computers at cafes, airports, etc. for your purchases. The danger is that hackers can install key-loggers to log your key strokes before they are encrypted.
Always use a credit card to pay for your online purchases. Most credit cards have online purchase protection. If something goes wrong, you can always call your credit card company and dispute the charge. You do not have to pay for your disputed charges till the dispute is resolved. Federal laws limit your liability to $50 in charges should someone uses your card fraudulently. Never use a debit card. Debit cards pull money out of your bank account as soon as the transaction is made. If you are ripped off, it may take months before you get your money back - that is if you ever see it again.
How safe is online shopping? If you are careful, you can guard yourself against identity and credit card thefts by following safety tips, such as the ones discussed above. A big safety tip is that you have to have a firewall, antivirus software and anti-phishing software on your computer to be completely confident that your online transaction would be processed securely.
